ALBANIAN – Gov. Kathy Hohlul has launched a new initiative to boost dependence on renewable energy and fight climate change in the wake of a hurricane that devastated New York City earlier this month.
The state announced that it has awarded contracts to two companies to build clean transmission lines from Epestate and Canada to five districts.
The First Line Clean Road NY Project: Built by Forward Power and the New York Power Authority – will create a 174-mile stretch of railway line from Fraser Sub-Station in Delaware County to Roosevelt Island in Queens. Second, the 339-mile buried cable from Champion Hudson Power Express to the Astoria Energy Center in Queens is expected to extend underwater.
According to Hochul, the integrated project will create 10,000 jobs – mainly under construction – with 8,600 spaces for Pure Street NY, the Short Line and the Champagne Hudson Line.
However, when the price of the project is “posted” and the payers are unable to see or see the increase in their bills.
We can get you all those details, but this is part of a promise from New York City to make sure we start breastfeeding in New York City – but the heaviest neighborhoods – from fossil fuels to fossil fuels. It is now widespread in many color communities, and that is not sustainable.
The Canada-based plan also includes cross-border work in and out of New York, Independent Energy Manufacturers – a trade association representing power companies.
Strong private sector response to NYSERDA’s request shows that there are developers and generators ready to continue investing in our region – Clear Path New York is a great example of that investment. However, it would be a mistake to endorse the Champion Hudson Power Express without a North Switch station that allows New York’s own generators to connect to the line, ”said Gavin J. Donohu, president and CEO of IPPNY.
“In addition to the heavy price tag, the Champagne Hudson line has long been a source of New York jobs and a reduction in emissions due to ‘green cleaning’. While the state process ultimately confirms the power source on the line, it would be a mistake to give this opportunity to a Canadian company rather than to New York generators who have repeatedly gone to the plate.
A spokesman for the NSS Energy Research and Development Authority said in a statement that the corporation would submit final contracts for approval in the coming weeks to the government utility regulator and the Public Service Commission.
The Pathway NY project will be completed in 2025 and the Champion Hudson line will follow two years later.
Hochul has set a goal of increasing the region’s six-megawatt fingerprint by 2025 to 10 gigabytes by 2030.
