Sunrun will establish a free labor education program to strengthen its clean energy workforce

National residential solar supplier Sunrun has launched PowerU, a new, fully funded workforce training and development program designed to train and develop the fast-growing clean energy industry today.

Through PowerU, Sunrun will take care of the next generation of greenery and professionals. The solar industry is currently on track to reach 400,000 jobs by 2030, but more than 900,000 trained workers will be needed to achieve the net energy goal of President Joe Biden by 2035. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that solar power plants will be the third fastest growing in the United States in the next decade.

Sunrun has partnered with the Guild Education Learning Center to meet this need and connect 150 employees with development opportunities through access to 150+ fully funded and flexible education and development programs. These programs include: Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in sustainability management, electrical engineering, information technology, and environmental sciences; Professional development and postgraduate certificates in areas such as sales management, solar installation, supply chain management and information science; English language lessons; High school graduation courses; And an employer-sponsored electrician training program.

The custom-built electrician training program was designed to provide workers with a clear professional path to becoming a certified electrician: often required for solar and battery installations. It is based on the program to meet the growing demand for industry and to build strong and diverse manpower, accelerate talent acquisition and enhance human resource development.

“Sur’s new PowerU benefits program aims to create a stable career and a prosperous future for thousands of Sunnis,” said Senior Patel Daswani, Senn’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “By launching PowerU and expanding solar energy, Sunrun’s PowerU will proudly lead the industry to meet the growing demand for clean energy professionals.”

PowerU strengthens Sunrun’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and strengthens investment in industries that are not traditionally represented in the industry. Sunrun has set goals for 2025 to achieve gender and racial representation in managerial and leadership roles. At PowerU, Sunrun offers the opportunity to train, work and operate in one of the fastest growing industries in the world.

Starting Day: All regular full-time and part-time Sunrun staff are eligible and receive a comprehensive support system, including a certified education and professional coaching team that helps staff set goals, select programs, and maintain balance. Evaluate responsibilities, and career paths.

“Our country is in a war of talent, we need to fill jobs today and build skills for tomorrow. We are excited to partner with Surun, a creative and forward-thinking company to build a talent-focused and multi-talented program. At the same time, this will prepare Sunrun and Sunrunners for the future, ”said Gil Education, CEO and co-founder.
