Process and Control Today | New Honeywell gas detection solutions provide superior monitoring for hazardous liquids in hazardous liquids

New Honeywell Searchline Excel ™ Plus and Searchline Excel ™ Edge workstations use advanced optics and infrared technology to help with site fog, rain, snow and other weather conditions.

Honeywell has announced the release of two new Bluetooth devices® *Connected gas detectors to ensure the safety of oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical and other personnel and industrial plants, even in fog, rain, snow and other adverse weather conditions.

The new Honeywell Searchline Excel ™ Plus and Searchline Excel ™ Edge are next-generation open-field gas detectors that use advanced optics and high-intensity infrared technology, enabling devices to stay online longer and longer. . The new gas detectors also feature Bluetooth connectivity that allows quick and easy device maintenance and measurement for plant workers.

“Protecting workplaces and employees is the number one priority for any business,” said Jason Weinber, senior production manager at Joelwell Gas Analysis and Security. “Honeywell’s Searchline Excel Plus and Searchline Excel Edge can continuously monitor leaks even in bad weather, which gives plant operators peace of mind knowing that their gas detection system can withstand a variety of external conditions.”

Many traditional open roads, permanent gas detectors and displays can be exposed to weather conditions such as fog, rain, snow and fog. In these cases, open roadside signs will not be blocked, equipment will be taken offline, and you will not be able to monitor harmful flammable hydrocarbon gases. In search line equipment, Honeywell’s advanced optics and near-band infrared absorption technology have the ability to penetrate deep fog with low visibility.

In addition, both the search line Excel Plus and Edge show Bluetooth connectivity. These gas detectors can be integrated with the Honeywell Fixed Platform application, provide simple maintenance and testing procedures, and provide more efficient and secure performance checks. For example, because workers can use their mobile devices up to 20 meters or approximately 60 feet to carry out maintenance inspections, they do not have to risk climbing stairs and falling to check equipment above ground.

Open street gas detectors play an important role in the station’s permanent gas detection system, creating an invisible line that hears gas passing through the transmitter and the receiver. The Search Line Excel Plus controls short and medium range applications from 2 to 120 meters (6 to 393 feet), allowing staff to track specific locations or devices for a series of security applications.

Search line Excel Edge provides 60 to 330 meters (196 to 1,083 feet) long distance perimeter or fence line. With wind direction and speed, both workplace workers can have their own effluents flowing through the plant’s property and find solutions if their facility can produce harmful gases to neighboring areas. In both cases, monitoring gas emissions reflects environmental precautions and may result in the elimination or reduction of costly penalties and disputes.

For more than 50 years, Honeywell has developed innovative gas detection solutions and analytics software to protect workers in difficult environments in a variety of industries. Honeywell’s wide range of technologies and equipment – gas detectors, flame detectors, natural gas alarms – provide risk reduction, life protection and environmental protection to workers and workplaces.
