NV Energy is “very likely to be disrupted” for some Carson-Minden and Kingbury customers, Carson City Nevada News

NV Energy continues to monitor fires and public safety disruption management event is currently scheduled for the PSOM Zones in the Kingsbury and Carson-Minden area from Monday, September 27 from 3pm to 6pm to Tuesday, September 28th. By 4:00 pm, the termination will affect approximately 600 customers.

The expiration date includes the duration of the weather event and the estimated time it will take for staff to inspect the lines for damage, plants or debris to ensure a safe return. Please note that the recovery time may change if weather conditions or staff require repairs to equipment. Affected customers are notified via phone, text and email messages.

NV Energy will continue to monitor fire conditions and provide up-to-date updates. Customers are encouraged to have an emergency plan. If the weather conditions change, this PSOM event will be corrected or canceled.

PSOM is a key defense measure to protect the community and the environment from wildfires. When certain environmental conditions are met during a PSOM event, power lines or debris will be closed to safety lines and other equipment to prevent fires.

The PSV event will open the NV Energy Drive: Customer Resource Center (CRC) at the following location.
Genoa Volunteer Fire Station, East Fork Station # 3 – 2298 Main Street, Genoa.

The PSC will be open during PSOM preparation on September 27 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or until September 28, when it will be renewed, and will provide charging equipment, light snacks, water and power outages.
