In this context, teachers participated for a week at lectures and seminars at the Akkuyu NPP Training Center under construction. The trainings in question were delivered by AKKUYU NUKLEER A.Ş. Provided by qualified professionals. Consistent with this study, “Nuclear Energy Introduction” will be added to the 2021 Vocational High School Curriculum in Mersey in the 2022-7 school year.

With the training provided, AKKUYU NUKLEER A.Ş. Electrical Engineer Ahmet Yassin Ö Ner, “Nuclear Power and Its Role in the Modern World”; AKKUYU NUCLEAR INC. Radiation Safety Specialist Denise Lebbybi gave a presentation on Atom, Radiation and Radioactive, and Okan Coe, a specialist in maintenance preparation and application, explained the areas of application of radioactive isotopes. Turbine Workshop Specialist Ahmet Avicio spoke about nuclear fuel cycle and maintenance management specialist Atahan Kissesk on nuclear power plants and nuclear safety principles.

Nuretin Ambarolu, director of Atatrak Anatolian Vocational High School in the district of Mercin Torreslar, said of the studies conducted within the curriculum: “Starting this year, our school and 11th grade 6th grades. Other technical schools will be included in the Nuclear Energy Introduction course. 2 hours per week and 4 hours for Russian language instruction. We teach our students how to use atomic energy by applying modern technologies. In the future, we plan to provide handicrafts to students at the NGS construction site. We expect about 700 students from various educational institutions and specialties to participate in this course soon. In the high school I represent, classes are provided for future architects, real workers, and mold masters. We plan to include 12th, 9th, and 10th grade students in the future to expand the courses. Our long-term goal is to train specialists in vocational high schools for the needs of the nuclear industry. Our teachers are very interested in this topic, especially during the training and have access to all the necessary information from experts.

Latif Uzu, a physics teacher at the same high school, said: “We need to explain the atomic force to our students in the future. That is why this training is so effective and incredibly useful for our teachers. Of course, in order to better understand the working principles of NPP, we would like to visit the Akku NPP site and see for ourselves how the institution was built.
