Cedar City – Last week, the Cedar City Field Office announced the start of a 60-day bidding period for the lease of more than 4,800 acres of South Solar Energy Zone in Beverly County. And create more than 200 jobs.

“We are excited to develop renewable energy resources and lease Beaver County on Utah’s renewable energy capital,” Briggs said. We are working closely with our community partners and tribal governments to ensure that any leased packages are responsibly developed.
If the packages are fully rented and built, BLM estimates that the solar panels will provide an estimated 200 construction jobs and 15 workplaces with a total salary of more than $ 10 million. The area has an estimated capacity of more than 600 megawatts of electricity, providing power to an estimated 100,000 homes.
The publication of the competitive bidding notice in the Federal Register will officially start on Tuesday, November 9 at 10:00 am. 9, to conduct the lease.
