Mangaluru Introduces St. Alysis College 2 new courses in BVoc degree

Mangaluru, December 1st St. Alysius College (Autonomous) Mangaluru in collaboration with National Panasonic India has introduced two new skills-based courses in the 2021-22 academic year undergraduate program in ‘Renewable Energy Management’ and ‘Software Development’. Dr. Tom George, Consultant, Isha Sol Energy was the Chief Guest. The program was presided over by Dr. Melvin Joseph Pinto SJ, Director of the St. Alysius Institute, Dr. Praven Martis SJ, Principal of the College, and Dr. Dennis Fernandez, Director of BVoc Courses.

During the meeting, Dr. Tom George spoke about the importance of renewable energy in the world. Renewable energy is an important factor in reducing global carbon emissions, and investment rates have increased significantly due to declining technology costs, he said. Congratulations to the college on launching its renewable energy management and software development degree program.

In his inaugural address, Fr Melwin, Joseph Pinto S.Je, said that renewable energy education is a major source of employment opportunities for the younger generation and the development and sustainability of renewable energy in the world. He said the program will enable students to participate in current energy production issues in the world by equipping them with the necessary skills.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Praven Martis S.J. explained the importance of vocational courses at the degree level.
