Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber (GOGEC) President Manniram Prashad on Tuesday signed two memoranda of understanding at the Coast Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas.
According to GOGEC, the MoUs are supported by a spirit of cooperation in education and training capacity building and are part of a strategic partnership with local players in the field of energy and energy.
The signing ceremony was attended by Guyana and Natural Resources Minister Vikram Barat and Prime Minister Sarah Ann Lynch.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by George Bush Drive West, College USA, Texas USA, International and Enterprise Partnership Director, Mr. Greg Gamon, at the Texas A&M Engineering Experimental Laboratory (TEES-TL) in 1485.
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to work closely with TEES-TL and to play a critical role in research and human resource development in the areas of rhododendrons and mechanical systems, thermal fluids and combustion, and computational modeling and design.
The second MOU was signed by the University of Texas, Austin, Petroleum Extension (PETEX), and the Cochrane Engineering School. The main objective of this strategic partnership is to provide training courses and executive training in the petroleum sector through GOGEC Training Institute.
According to the Chamber’s president, this will meet the demand for capacity building, especially for the oil and gas sector and companies operating in the whole value chain.
GOGEC would also like to thank the US Embassy in Guyana for facilitating these strategic partnerships to help promote Guyana.
