Families will increase natural gas use by 2020

A.D. Domestic use of natural gas will increase significantly by 2020, with more than half of the energy used by power plants, further indicating future challenges to losing confidence in fossil fuels.

A.D. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CSO) shows that the effects of the Covi-19 pandemic in 2020 will begin with significant restrictions on movement in the fall and winter months.

A.D. By 2020, 56% of the total network gas consumption will be in the non-residential sector and 14% in the residential sector, according to the Civil Sector.

“This design was largely the same between 2011 and 2019. In 2020, total consumption was 57,953 gigabytes, an increase of 0.4% over 2019, and the highest consumption between 2011 and 2020, ”he said.

Consumer energy consumption increased by 2.3%, and 3.1% in the non-residential sector due to the 6.1% increase in housing.

As expected, gas consumption in homes was key during the year.

From January to March, the quarter is the highest consumption, and by 2020 there is 44% of the total annual volume, CSO. A.D. By 2020, only 9% of total household consumption has reached July-September.

However, in other sectors, the seasonal differences were small, with one-third accounting for 28% of total energy consumption in the third quarter of 2020 and 23% for non-residential consumption. The non-resident sector includes such as school buildings, hospitals and offices.

A.D. By 2020, Dublin Posts will account for 45% of total housing consumption, followed by Dublin County with an additional 17%, and Cork at 11%, CSO.

Statistics used by the statistical body cover all customers connected to the natural gas network, including power plants, non-residential and residential customers.

Three provinces (Dongal, Litrim and Siligo) did not have metering connections and were not connected to the gas network.

CVOO used census figures to estimate nearly two million members in Ireland, with 1.7 million. A.D. By 2020, there were 687,749 residential gas meters, he said.

There are about 29,000 non-resident customers, he said. Housing measurements have increased by 8.7% since 2011 to 687,749 by 2020.
