CVTC and Eau Claire Energy Cooperative Host Second Year Electric Vehicle Experience

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Eau Claire Cooperative and The Chippewa Valley Technical College hosted their second annual electric vehicle experience at CVTC.

“Our goal is to educate students, but also about current trends in industry,” said Adam Welling, CVT Dean of Agriculture, Energy and Transport.

A variety of electric vehicles were available for participants to see, from cars to bicycles to motorcycles and more.

Wingling hopes that the experience of electric vehicles will broaden people’s horizons.

Welling said, “We really want to be a display campus so that people can see and learn about all possible power vehicles, technology and jobs.”

Adam Westby, along with the E Claire Energy Cooperative, says such events are a great way to educate and rehabilitate people on electric vehicles.

“It is a place where local electric vehicle owners can bring these electric vehicles from the Chippa Valley Valley,” Westby said.

Chippewa Valley electric vehicle owners volunteered their vehicles to provide test drivers during the event.

“We have a dozen electric vehicles involved today,” Westby said. We have a few local traders and cooperatives have electric vehicles on their ships and they are participating.

Welling says renewable energy and electric vehicles are growing in popularity.

“Electric vehicles will come on the market, and soon we will have to train these technicians,” said Welling. So we see that we are doing alternative power, plug-in, hybrid, battery and electrical training in our automotive technician programming and in those programming courses.

WestBib hopes more people will use electric vehicles and renewable energy in the future.

“We are doing everything we can to establish ourselves as a trusted source of information, not only for our members but also for our local distributors and the community,” Welling said.

CVTC is getting a new addition to the Campus, Transportation Learning Center. Wingling It says it should be completed by August 2022 and will be the venue for the third annual electric vehicle experience.
