Crowley, MMA partner to train New England Coast Guard

“Crowley and MMA are leaders in the marine industry, and the joint program will help us build the next generation of workers in the marine industry.

Crowley Maritime Corporation and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) will be launching the first-of-its-kind training and human resource development program specifically for the New England coastal wind industry.

The partnership, described at the International Beach Partnership Forum (IFF) conference, will enable strategic and sustainable human resource development in the US marine industry, including maritime safety and rescue guidelines. The program is certified by the Global Windows Organization (GOO), which sets international standards for safety training. The academy is co-ordinating with Coalition, the world’s largest provider of special education in the energy and industry sectors.

“Crowley and MMA are leaders in the marine industry, and the joint program will help us build the next generation of workers in the marine industry,” said Jeff Andrei, vice president of Crowley New Energy. “This partnership will provide employees with the skills and knowledge they need, and together we will help create clean energy sources in the United States.”

In addition, Crowley will continue to provide scholarships, internships, and vocational training to MMA cadres at the academy, including the academy’s long-term supporter of the country’s maritime academies. Campus in Buzzard Bay, Cassette.

In addition to training, the partnership also manages resources to create communication programs and manpower for unrepresented population groups in Massachusetts Gateway cities. Those communities are rebuilding city centers with untapped potential and past industry foundations.
