Tesla solar customers hit by high prices in April may be able to regain their original price points, a court document published on Thursday said.
The document, according to CNBC, was made in May by Tesseman Amans, a customer who received a $ 75,000 price increase in Tesla.
In June 2020, Amans registered to install a Tesla solar roof over his house. He agreed to pay $ 71,662.06 in March 2021. On the weekend of April 10, Tesla paid $ 146,462.22.
Amans was not alone.
In a lawsuit filed Thursday, Tesla’s attorneys told the plaintiffs’ attorneys on Monday that the company was planning to reimburse some of its clients.
The complaint states, “Tesla informed the plaintiffs’ counsel that a program had been launched for customers who signed solar roof contracts before the price change in April 2021. To return those customers to their original price (if the price is increased). April 2021).
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a call in April that the company had calculated how many customers would charge for solar ceilings.
Solar Ceiling is a major product of Tesla’s solar power unit. Instead of installing panels on the client’s roof, it is made of individual panels, which are solar cells.
Tesla did not immediately respond when contacted by an insider. Tesla’s lawyers are listed as having signed the document.
