CNOOC brings another field online

CNOOC Limited (NYSE: CEO) announces the start of production of the Bozenhong 26-3 oil field expansion project.

The average water depth south of the Bohai Sea is 68 feet, and the project is expected to reach an estimated 2,670 barrels of crude oil per day this year. CNOOC emphasizes that the development will use existing processing facilities, as well as a newly built unmanned aerial platform and a power platform. A total of eight development wells are planned, including five production wells, two injection wells and one development and evaluation well.

CNOOC Limited holds 100% interest in the Boaz Hong 26-3 oil field expansion project and operates as an operator. Field Start marks the company’s third online acquisition this month.

On August 23, CNOOC announced that production of Luda’s 6-2 oil field had begun before the election. A total of 38 development wells are planned, including 29 development wells, eight injection wells and one development and assessment well. According to CNOOC, which has a 100 percent interest rate on the property, the project is expected to reach an estimated 10,000 barrels of crude oil per day by 2022.

On August 2, CNOOC announced that the Liuhua 21-2 oil field had also started production ahead of schedule. Eight development wells are planned for the property, which is expected to reach an estimated 15,070 barrels of crude oil per day by 2023.

In July, CNOOC announced that it had started production of one oil field, Luda 29-1, and in June the company announced that it had started production of one oil field, Weizu 11-2 Petroleum Level 2, and one gas field, Lingsui 17-2. Further launches were announced in May, Leo 29-2 and March, Caophia 6-4.
