Seattle has announced that for the first time, the full cost of college education will be $ 1.2 billion for education and vocational training by 2025. Since 2012, Amazon has provided a number of educational and career training benefits in areas of interest such as nursing and transportation, many under the banner of the Vocational Choice Program.

As of January, more than 750,000 Amazon American employees, mostly part-time employees in the logistics department, will be eligible for training on “hundreds,” the company said in a statement on Thursday. The benefits apply to employees seeking bachelor’s or associate’s degrees, as well as high school diploma and English as a second language proficiency certificate.

The ad follows similar steps from some of Amazon’s biggest retailers. Walmart a. Target Corp. said last month that it would offer free undergraduate degrees to more than 340,000 employees in US stores.

Amazon also announced on Thursday that it will launch three new skills training programs for employees focusing on information technology, cloud computing and user experience design. He said the company aims to provide nearly 30,000 scholarships and skills training to nearly 300,000 employees in the next four years.
